China’s National Health Commission on Sunday announced 14 new cases of the coronavirus, with one case appearing in Wuhan, where the outbreak originally started.

Eleven of the new cases were in Shulan, a city in China’s northeastern Jilin province. Shulan has increased virus-control restrictions, closing residential compounds and ordering all public places to be closed. Chinese officials have adjusted the coronavirus risk level in the city to "high."

Wuhan, along with nearby cities, were put under lockdown in January to curb the spread of the virus. All shops in the city were closed except for food and medicine, with the government putting restrictions on citizens from leaving their residences. The lockdown later spread to other parts of China.

On April 8, China lifted its lockdown on Wuhan, as there were no new infections in several weeks. By late April, Beijing continued to loosen lockdown measures across the country.

As of Sunday at 2:25 p.m, there are 83,994 cases of the virus in China, with the country’s death toll at 4,637.

Other Asian nations that have curbed outbreaks of the virus are also seeing new cases. South Korea reported 34 new infections Sunday, while the Iranian government reported 1,500 new cases on Friday.

There are currently 4,077,594 cases of the coronavirus around the world, with the global death toll standing at 281,287.
