A state trooper from Connecticut was found unresponsive in a parked cruiser on Monday and was discovered to be driving under the influence.

Shaquile Williams was charged and arrested with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when someone called 911 to around 1 AM to report an unresponsive person in a parked cruiser with its hazard lights on in a highway shoulder of Interstate 84 in Waterbury, CT Post reported.

Williams did not pass the field sobriety tests and was arrested but was released on $500 bail and was ordered to appear at court on April 21.

The same incident happened in Colorado in December 2019 when an agent was demoted to the rank of officer because he was discovered unresponsive and inebriated in the dirver's seat of a vehicle parked in the middle of East Mississippi Avenue.

The officer, Nate Meier, was not charged with DUI, however, the investigation of his case concluded that he violated four police policies, including neglect of duty and alcohol impairment.

Larimer County Sheriff Justun Smith was dissatisfied with how the Aurora police department handled the case and called them out for it, 9 News reported.
