It's been about six months since Jenelle Evans was fired from "Teen Mom 2," but she could already be gearing up for a comeback.

The MTV reality star landed in New York City on Friday, and sources tell The Ashley's Reality Roundup that she was there to meet with some very important people at the network.

"[A higher up] from MTV contacted Jenelle and requested a meeting with her," the source revealed. "They kept telling Jenelle that she is still under contract and that they wanted to talk to her about possibly returning to the show, so she flew up there."

Jenelle's husband, David Eason, apparently didn't tag along for the trip. However, she wasn't alone. The source added, "Jenelle did bring her lawyer up there with her."

It wouldn't exactly be a surprise if the 27-year-old were to return to the MTV series, considering it's most likely a more lucrative gig than her cosmetics line, JE Cosmetics, which was recently dropped by its manufacturer.

Whether her return would mean another "Teen Mom" would get kicked off of the show has yet to be determined, but that doesn't mean it's not a possibility. Following Jenelle's firing from the show, "Teen Mom: Young And Pregnant" star Jade Cline was bumped up to the "Teen Mom 2" roster. She's already causing a stir -- and not in a good way.

The "Teen Mom 2" newbie, who was also in New York City to film the reunion special, was allegedly refusing to film with a former co-star.

"Teen Mom 2" airs Tuesdays on MTV at 8 p.m EDT.
