Cristiano Ronaldo shared an adorable family photo to mark the start of 2021.

On Instagram, Ronaldo posted a snapshot of him seated with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, and four children — 2-year-old twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 3-year-old daughter Alana Martina and 10-year-old son Cristiano Jr. He accompanied the picture with a message about 2020 in which he spoke about looking forward to a better year ahead.

"2020 was not an easy year, there’s no doubt about it. No one can be indifferent to the pain and suffering that COVID-19 brought upon the world," he wrote.

"But now it’s time to bounce back and show that, together, we can make a difference," the Juventus player added. "Because no matter how hard is the fall, what really defines us is the way we get back on our feet and how fast we are ready to face new obstacles."

Ronaldo went on to say that he hopes 2021 will be a "turning point," a "new beginning" and a "fresh start" for everyone.

"Because all of us – and I do mean all of us – can still become better versions of ourselves. And if we do it all together, that might actually be the secret to turn things around for the better. Happy New Year! And may 2021 be a year to allways [sic] remember for the best reasons!" he wrote.

Ronaldo's post received positive and supportive messages from his followers, who wished him and his family a Happy New Year as well.

"Happy new year to you and your family," Lorenzo Greer commented.

"Happy new year Cris," Rudy Bundini wrote.

"Wish you a Great year bro Happy new year!" a third user added.

Some left red heart and fire emojis in the comments section, including his girlfriend, Rodriguez.

In October, Ronaldo tested positive for the coronavirus. The Portuguese soccer federation announced the news but confirmed that the 35-year-old player didn't exhibit any symptoms. Ronaldo immediately quarantined and was dropped from a UEFA Nations League match.

Despite contracting COVID-19, Ronaldo still has a lot to be thankful for in 2020. He became the first soccer player to bring in at least $1 billion in earnings, Forbes reported. He raked in $105 million before taxes and fees between June 2019 and June 2020.

According to Forbes, at least $650 million of his earnings came from soccer. Ronaldo earned the remainder of his income from his endorsement deals, including those with Nike and Tag Heuer.
