On Friday night, those who tune in to watch the new episode of "Dateline" on NBC will examine the murder of Teresa Sievers and the series of events that led to the crime.

Teresa had once been a successful and dedicated doctor who had hoped to share her message on television. Not only did she have a flourishing career, but she had also been a devoted wife to her husband, Mark, and mother to the two young daughters that they shared.

In Friday night's new episode, several of Teresa's one-time patients will discuss the professional experience they had with her throughout the years with NBC correspondent Dennis Murphy. In the preview below, Julie Rojas-Butcher describes the positive treatment that she received while under Teresa's care.

"There's something about her caring about my family, about my career, about my life," she said, adding, "So, you don't find that very often."

Her commitment to her patients extended into her personal life, as she had at one time left her mother's birthday party early so that she could tend to her patients the following Monday morning. At that time, her husband and children had stayed behind in New York while she flew back home to Florida. However, she didn't show up to work as expected.

After failing to reach his wife, Mark asked a family friend to go by their home and check on her.

"I just thought maybe if you were not at work, you could possibly swing by the house," Mark can be heard saying on a voicemail, adding that "it's just not like her" to be both unresponsive and late for work.

It was then that they made a "ghastly" discovery.

During the new episode of the NBC crime show, viewers will get to explore the details surrounding the crime that grasped the "entire community" throughout the "dangerous investigation."

This episode of "Dateline," titled "The Road Trip," will air Friday night at 9:00 p.m. EDT on NBC.
