Drax actor Dave Bautista has made sure audiences know that he doesn’t support Disney’s decision to fire director James Gunn. The actor isn’t even sure he wants to return for the third film.

When Bautista visited the U.K.’s “The Jonathan Ross Show,” he was asked about reports that he might not return for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

“Yeah, there’s a bit of an issue,” he admitted. “It’s a bittersweet conversation — no, it’s a bitter, bitter conversation because I’m not really happy with what they’ve done with James Gunn. They’re putting the movie off. It’s on hold indefinitely, and to be honest with you, I don’t know if I want to work for Disney.”

This isn’t the first time he has expressed his support for James Gunn and his anger towards Disney. “I’ve been very vocal about the way I feel and I’m not afraid to admit the way I feel,” he added.

Ten days after Gunn was fired for tweets from a decade ago in which he joked about rape and pedophilia, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” cast released a statement asking Disney to rehire the director.

“We are not here to defend his jokes of many years ago but rather to share our experience having spent many years together on set making ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ 1 and 2,” the letter read in part. “The character he has shown in the wake of his firing is consistent with the man he was every day on set, and his apology, now and from years ago when first addressing these remarks, we believe is from the heart, a heart we all know, trust and love.”

The open letter was signed by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan and Bautista.

Since then, the cast has taken different approaches to handling questions about Gunn’s firing. When Pratt was interviewed by the Associated Press, he emphasized that he said everything he wanted to say in the letter. Bautista, however, hasn’t shied away from talking about the situation.

Last month, Bautista tweeted that he would do what he is “legally obligated to do” when it comes to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

Filming for was rumored to begin in winter but has been put on hold for the foreseeable future. Bautista hinted that the situation could change the “Avengers 4” plot.

“It’s on permanent hold for now, and that may make a difference in what they do with our characters in ‘Avengers 4.’ To be honest with you, right now I really don’t know,” Bautista told Digital Spy. “But I know I’m in ‘Avengers 4.’ I’ve shot most of it already. I do have two days of reshoots. But other than that, I have some really great scenes that I hope they use. But I guess that it remains to be seen what they’ll do with the characters.”

Marvel Studios hasn’t actually said much about their post-“Avengers 4” plans. After “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” due out July 5, no release dates are set. Fans expected the third “Guardians” and a solo “Black Widow” film to follow.
