His return to Salem has greatly shocked all of his loved ones in ways they never expected. Now, it will be his daughter Abigail’s turn to try and get through to Jack and remind him of the life he lived prior to his presumed death on the Wednesday, Jan. 2 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and JJ (Casey Moss) were floored when Jack (Matthew Ashford) arrived at the New Year’s Eve party with Eve (Kassie DePaiva), but their joy that he wasn’t dead after all was short-lived, as he quickly revealed on the NBC soap that he didn’t remember any of them. Even worse, he seemed committed to Eve once again and was completely against Jennifer, which devastated his one-time wife.

Now, it will be time for him to reunite with his daughter, Abigail (Kate Mansi), who is already going through a lot, but when she learns her father is alive, it will make the rest of her drama likely pale in comparison. Still, she too will be dismayed when she realizes he doesn’t remember that she is his child, or that trying to save her was how everyone assumed he had died.

If she is unable to help her father regain his memories, it could overwhelm her in the same way her mother and brother were already left feeling. However, just because they can’t break through to him doesn’t mean they won’t all still continue to try. With Eve potentially manipulating things in her favor though out of revenge against Jen for busting her relationship with Brady (Eric Martsolf), it may be a difficult and ongoing battle.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
