He’s been living the good life since he blackmailed Sonny into marrying him. However, Leo’s joy about his con will come to a crashing halt following his mother’s arrival in Salem on the Tuesday, Jan. 29 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Leo (Greg Rikaart) has been holding quite a lot over Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Will’s (Chandler Massey) heads since he came back to Salem on the NBC soap, and with no other way of keeping him from going to the cops and turning them in for trying to kill him and dispose of his body, Sonny was forced to marry the con man he despised. Since then, Leo has been lavishly spending his husband’s money and doing everything he can to keep Sonny and Will apart.

However, one night, while he was drunk, he alluded to issues with his mother, something Sonny and Will have seized on in an effort to try and find a way to end their nightmare and get back together. Now, much to Leo’s horror, Diana (Judith Chapman) will show up at the front door of the Kiriakis mansion—and she will certainly bring plenty of his baggage with her.

Now, he will have to do whatever it takes to keep his mother from ruining the good time he’s been having. However, her arrival could also spurn some more drama and big secrets being revealed.

It’s rare that a character’s arrival happens in Salem where they don’t have ties to someone else in town. While Diana will obviously be tied to her son, it’s likely she will also have a different connection elsewhere, and depending on who it is, she could cause a lot of trouble and bring some serious damage of her own—meaning she may not be the defense against Leo that Sonny and Will were hoping for.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
