  • Demi Lovato looked back on her experiences this year
  • She said the most important thing she has learned is self-love
  • This came nearly two months after she ended her engagement to Max Ehrich

Demi Lovato is underlining the importance of self-love almost two months after she ended her engagement to Max Ehrich.

During her appearance on “Today With Hoda & Jenna,” the singer opened up about how this year has been for her as she described her 2020 “roller-coaster.” Lovato explained that things were looking great at the start of the year as she was “on this trajectory to have a pretty eventful career, and I was planning my comeback.”

However, Lovato was forced to delay the drop of her seventh studio album due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But she is now grateful for this as she said she has experienced a lot over the past few months and learned some important life lessons.

“I think the most important thing that I’ve learned is how much I am OK with myself and loving myself. It wasn’t until this year that I really started exploring the things that bring joy to my life in little ways,” Lovato said Thursday.

She gave this update nearly two months after she suddenly called it quits with Ehrich in September. Although Lovato has yet to officially address the breakup, she dropped a single titled “Still Have Me.” Coincidentally, her ex has also released “Afraid.”

After news broke that Lovato called the engagement off, Ehrich took to social media to claim that he wasn’t aware of it, maintaining that he only learned about it through a tabloid. However, a People source claimed that the “Sorry Not Sorry” hitmaker informed her then-beau that she was ending their relationship.

“Imagine finding out the status of your relationship through a tabloid. While your (sic) in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people,” Ehrich wrote on Instagram.

After months of being the subject of romance rumors, Lovato and Ehrich confirmed their relationship when they appeared in Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s music video for “Stuck With U” in May.

In July, the “Young and the Restless” actor popped the question to Lovato in Malibu with a massive ring, which they shared on social media.
