Actress Demi Moore is the latest victim in a major credit card fraud case with bills running up to $169k over several weeks, according to federal prosecutors.

TMZ reported that a person named David Matthew Read reported Moore's card lost or stolen in March and when the new card was delivered through FedEx, the man somehow managed to pick it up and went on a spending spree.

He was spotted on CCTV at the FedEx and was nabbed in April. Federal prosecutors said Read has confessed to the activity and is still in L.A. County Jail. A criminal complaint was filed against Read recently.

The actress, best known for her film role in “Ghost” is worth $150 million in 2018. She was last seen in the romance drama “Blind” and is also a part of the hit hip-hop drama series “Empire." She was introduced in the Season 3 finale and played the role of a take-charge nurse with a mysterious past.

Moore started her career by doing a minor role in the movie "Choices" in 1981 and went on to establish herself as one of the most successful and highest-paid actresses since the early 1990s. She reportedly earns a staggering $ 22 million every year.

A major amount of her wealth comes from acting, endorsements and production. Apart from this, the actress is also an investor in a Hollywood chain of themed restaurants along with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The actress had also produced an interview series “The Conversation” and all three films in the “Austin Power” franchise. She is the brand ambassador for various top brands and more than $ 20 million of her net worth is through endorsements. In 2017, she sold her 7,000 square feet New York penthouse for a discount rate of $45 million, the original rate of which was $75 million.

Moore made headlines in 1996 when she was paid $12.5 million — a sum that amounts to $20.08 million today — for the role of Erin Grant in the movie “Striptease." Moore’s future projects include “Rock That Body,” a movie about an accidental murder, and “Love Sonia,” which is about a girl caught in a sex trade network.

In a career spanning over three decades, Moore received two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress. "Ghost" remains her highest grossing movie ever by earning over $506 million at the box office. She also won her first award for the movie from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy And Horror Films.

The actress is also known for her tumultuous love life. She married musician Freddie Moore in 1981, divorcing him in 1984. She then married actor Bruce Willis in 1987 and the couple separated in 2000.

She married actor Aston Kutcher in 2005 and the two called it quits in 2013. The two launched a charity organization called “The Demi and Ashton Foundation nonprofit” in 2009. Moore has three daughters — Rumer Willis, Scout Willis, and Tallulah Willis.
