KEY POINTS

  • Acute Arc Burn makes Thermoshock Plating a must-have mod
  • The Riskrunner is a very safe exotic option to bring for this strike
  • Bring rocket launchers and use Lucent Finisher to generate heavy ammo

The Fallen Saber isn’t as notoriously difficult as some of “Destiny 2’s” other strikes, but it can still give players a run for their money if they don’t know what they’re doing.

This mission will pit Guardians against a storm of Arc energy fire from Fallen combatants. The boss room itself isn’t terribly difficult to deal with, but all of the encounters leading to it can be very overwhelming.

Here’s a quick guide on how to beat the Grandmaster version of the Fallen Saber strike in “Destiny 2.”

Recommended loadouts

A triple Void subclass team can do wonders for this strike. Bubble Titans, Invis Hunters and Devour Warlocks can all offer the same level of utility and damage to help break through the Fallen lines.

Alternatively, a Chaos Reach Warlock and Thundercrash Titan can help clear rooms much faster if they can abuse their supers.

As for weapons, either bring Arc and Solar or just have someone bring Arbalest for general shield-busting and Barrier champion hunting. Riskrunner is also a great weapon here because of low engagement distances and extra Arc resistance.

Rocket launchers with Impact Casing, Chain Reaction or Explosive Light can make quick work of champions and other major enemies. Bring the Lucent Finisher mod to keep heavy ammo reserves topped off.

For mods, make sure to equip Thermoshock Plating to negate as much Arc and Solar damage as possible.

Fallen Saber encounter tips

The Warsat encounter at the beginning can be skipped by clipping inside the crashed satellite using the Chair Pop emote. Otherwise, bring smoke bombs and bubbles to protect against the onslaught of Fallen.

Move slowly when clearing the rooms and try to prioritize the champions, Fallen Vandals and Sniper Shanks. Use supers and heavy ammo when champions are clustered together.

During the boss fight, make sure to aim for the Saber’s propulsion jets to deal critical damage with every hit. Watch for the Sniper Shanks that spawn on the sides of the room when the boss goes invulnerable.

Lastly, make sure to pick a safe spot away from environmental hazards, where the entire team can stack healing rifts, barricades or smoke bombs.
