Did another “Love & Hip Hop” couple fake their marriage? Rumors have surfaced claiming Yandy Smith and Mendeecees Harris never officially married, although the pair had a lavish wedding ceremony last season on “Love & Hip Hop: New York.”

The rumors started after a video popped up online of Yandy seemingly admitting to her Season 7 cast mate Kimbella that she and Mendeecees aren’t legally husband and wife. In the video, posted by the Shade Room, Yandy says: “I have a union with Mendeecees, but I did not go into a partnership with Mendeecees and the government.”

Mendeecees, who is currently serving time in prison, “checked in” via an Instagram post Monday night to set the record straight. Posting a photo of himself, Yandy and rapper Cam’ron, Mendeecees told fans that Yandy was his wife “til the death of me!” He added: “Y’all jump on anything. Just wait for it.”

Yandy also responded to the rumor by referring to Mendeecees as her husband in several posts. “Miss the show tonight..awwwwwwww what a pity,” she captioned a photo of her at the Barclays Center. “But I’m ouchea just emailing my HUSBAND @mendeecees I love you baby (that’s all I’m writing).”

Yandy and Mendeecees aren’t the only VH1 couple who have dealt with rumors about their marriage being a sham. It was rumored for years that Stevie J and Joseline were never a legally married couple, and the producer confirmed the reports in June while slamming his ex in an Instagram video. “I’m not your husband. Never have been and never will be,” he said.

On an episode of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” Stevie explained that he lied about being married because he was trying to make Joseline happy. “I thought it was a forever thing,” he said. Joseline, who is pregnant with a baby girl, has maintained that she and Stevie are legally married.
