Miles Teller will be starring in Amazon’s original drama series, “Too Old To Die Young.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is being helmed by “Drive” director Nicolas Winding Refn. Teller will play the lead role of Martin, a police officer involved in the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles. Martin develops a connection with assassins after his partner got shot. As of late, the release date for the crime thriller project has not yet been announced. What is only known is that the new series will have a total of 10 episodes.

After his casting was announced on Monday, Teller released a statement to Entertainment Weekly expressing his excitement. “I’m a huge fan of Nic’s work so the opportunity to work with him, and for a company like Amazon, with this type of material is very exciting,” he said.

Other than “Too Old To Die Young,” Teller will also appear in “Granite Mountain,” a film focused on the lives of the firemen who stopped the 2013 wildfire in Arizona. He will also be part of the war drama “Thank You For Your Service.” The former is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Sept. 22, and the latter will be released on Oct. 27.

Meanwhile, Teller previously starred in the Oscar-nominated film, “Whiplash,” where he played the role of Andrew. The character is a young jazz drummer who wanted to be a part of the elite music conservatory. When he received a wonderful opportunity pursue his dreams, his desire for perfection quickly spiraled into obsession.

Teller also starred in “War Dogs,” where he played the role of David Packouz, according to Deadline.
