Donald Trump and Queen Elizabeth II talked over the phone ahead of the Fourth of July holiday. Twitter users were quick to express their thoughts and made some funny speculations about their conversation.

President Trump and Queen Elizabeth II have been spotted several times already. The POTUS has also visited the monarch in the past years.

According to royal correspondent Richard Palmer, the two leaders had a conversation over the phone.

“The Queen spoke to @realDonaldTrump by phone from Windsor Castle today ahead of July 4,” he wrote on Twitter.

The royal family also confirmed the phone call between the Queen and the U.S. president that happened ahead of the Independence Day.

“Today, The Queen spoke to President Trump by telephone from Windsor Castle ahead of Independence Day in the United States on the 4th July,” the palace wrote.

The palace added that the call with Trump is Queen Elizabeth II’s most recent call with world leaders in recent months. The Queen also spoke with President Emmanuel Macron of France, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada and Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia.

The subject of their conversation has not been shared, but it happened just days before the Fourth of July holiday. Many find it interesting because it will be Prince Harry’s first time to celebrate Independence Day as a California resident, Town & Country noted. Trump has not tweeted about the call yet and the publication thinks it is “unusual” because the POTUS is a notorious Twitter user.

Meanwhile, Palmer’s post received various reactions from the netizens who wanted to know what Trump and Queen Elizabeth II talked about. Some made funny comments, saying that the Queen wanted to take back the communist states.

“Why? Is she trying to renegotiate the terms of Cornwallis’ surrender?” one asked.

“Did she offer to take back the original 13 colonies? PLEASE SAY YES & RESCUE US! (Maine used to belong to Massachusetts, so I think we'd be included.),” another wrote.

“I hope she scolded him like the big baby he is. She’s prob the only person in the world who could deal with as he deserves,” another added.

“I’m saying nothing, other than I am loving some of the replies,” Palmer wrote with a wink emoji.

Moreover, some netizens shared their speculations on the relationship of the two leaders. For them, the call was not a big deal as the two have a good relationship.

“They ... appear to have a warm relationship. Good for them!” one wrote.

“They have a good relationship and that’s a good thing. Nothing negative about respect just negative ppl,” @glee_64 wrote.

In 2019, Trump visited Queen Elizabeth II in the U.K. According to the POTUS, they had so much fun during their meeting.

“I have such a great relationship, and we were laughing and having fun. And her people said she hasn't had so much fun in 25 years. Then I got criticized for it because they said we were having too much fun,” Trump said at the time, according to CNN.

Trump also praised Her Majesty and even called her an “incredible lady.”

“I feel I know her so well and she certainly knows me very well right now, but we have a very good relationship also with the United Kingdom,” Trump added.
