President Donald Trump returned home from Walter Reed Medical Center to the White House on Monday after being hospitalized for treatment for COVID-19, but after appearing on a White House balcony—maskless—for photos following his return, many became concerned that the worst could still be coming for him, after he appeared to gasp for air at one point during the appearance.

The President was released from Walter Reed and returned to the White House after staying at the hospital for three days, one of which included a brief car trip to greet supporters who had gathered outside of the facility. Upon his arrival back at the White House Monday night, he walked up to the balcony, removed his face mask, and stayed for photos with the press. However, he also appeared to have moments where breathing seemed difficult, which led to many concerns on social media about whether he was really okay, and the term “Gasping for Air” began to trend Monday night and Tuesday morning as a result.

Many expressed concerns about his health because of the way the COVID-19 virus affects the body, and they worried that his insistence that he projects that he is healthy and strong would cause more harm than good.

Others expressed concern that he would get himself killed if he wasn’t careful.

However, many others were furious about the President's attitude throughout the pandemic, as well as how he appeared to be handling things now that he was also sick.

The concerns and criticisms about the President also come as there have been conflicting messages regarding his condition since news broke of his diagnosis. Not only did his doctor at Walter Reed, Sean Conley, face criticism over his refusal to answer several questions about the President’s health, including whether or not he had ever received supplemental oxygen, but the President’s own seemingly cavalier attitude about his diagnosis has also led to criticism.

There have also been concerns about how he and several others in the GOP and his inner circle contacted the illness. It is believed that the event which became a Super Spreader one was the Rose Garden ceremony announcing Amy Coney Barrett as a Supreme Court Nominee. Several attendees at that event later tested positive for COVID-19, with it since being dubbed at the “Rose Garden Massacre.”
