Electronic Arts has announced that it will livestream the first multiplayer gameplay reveal of “Star Wars: Battlefront 2” on June 10. The livestream is part of EA Play event, which leads up to the E3 2017 conference that kicks off on June 13.

The “Star Wars: Battlefront 2” livestream is called as The Assault on Theed and will feature 20 v 20 battles set in the planet of Naboo. The live stream will start at 12:30 p.m. PT Saturday, June 10.

“Armies of Clones and Droids sprint across cover, their blazing weapons shattering the tranquility of the once-peaceful capital of Naboo,” EA said in its blog post. “And at the center of the swirling melee the lightsabers and Darth Maul and Rey cut swaths through the ranks of the battling troopers.”

The planet Naboo was central to the plot of the 1999 film, “Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace,” and it looks like EA wants fans to know that “Battlefront 2” will include the prequel era of the “Star Wars” saga. The inclusion of Darth Maul and Rey in The Assault on Theed livestream is also another way for the game developer to show that the upcoming shooter will indeed have cross-era heroes.

“At EA Play, you’ll be able to watch the first-ever live gameplay reveal of ‘Star Wars: Battlefront II,’ featuring livestream of 40-player gameplay set during the Assault on Theed – one of the new multiplayer battles from the prequel trilogy,” EA said.

“Clone Troopers will mount a desperate defense against the invading forces of the Separatist Battle Droids. Can the Republic forces stop the relentless crawl of the massive Multi-Troop Transport as it lumbers toward the palace doors?”

One of the biggest complaints with 2015’s “Star Wars: Battlefront” was its lack of content and strictly sticking to the original trilogy era of the “Star Wars” franchise. With “Battlefront 2,” EA seems to want to make it clear that it isn’t making the same mistake.

EA also confirmed that the the livestream will feature influencers from YouTube, Twitch and other platforms to have a go at the 40-player event. Each 20-man team will be led by YouTube livestreamers StoneMountain64 and Neebs Gaming.

It’s expected that EA developers DICE, Motive Studios and Criterion Games will also reveal more information on “Star Wars: Battlefront 2’s” single-player campaign during E3 2017. So far, the EA has already revealed some major details about the game’s campaign, including the new protagonist Iden Versio and the story that spans from the end of “Return of the Jedi” until 2015’s “The Force Awakens.”

"Battlefront 2" Latest Leaks

EA has only released one official trailer for “Battlefront 2,” but some leakers have already shared some clips from the game.

A leaked clip from earlier this week shows what appears to be Rebel soldiers in a spaceship believed to be the Tantive IV from “A New Hope.” Meanwhile, a second leaked clip also featured some behind the scenes look at emperor Palpatine’s Sentinel droid, Iden Versio’s droid sidekick, as well as very short glimpses at multiplayer.

There’s also an allegedly leaked screenshot of what appears to be the “Battlefront 2” loadout screen. The most interesting thing about the leaked screenshot is that it looks like Star Card abilities will be making a return, as pointed out by WWG.

“Star Wars: Battlefront 2” is slated to be released on Nov. 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC.
