  • FromSoftware is still silent about the game's release date

More details about FromSoftware's heavily anticipated title "Elden Ring" surfaced online recently, including its release date, platforms where it could be played and some details about its content.

Several industry insiders recently shared on Twitter some details about "Elden Ring." 4newsit Chief Editor Roberto Serrano tweeted the game's reveal trailer at the Xbox Conference at E3 2019. He also mentioned in the tweet that the game is currently in development at FromSoftware.

"Elden Ring" will be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, according to Serrano. He noted that the game would be playable on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5, as well. Moreover, the insider added that the game's enhanced features would be released through a content update.

Meanwhile, Twitter user LinusWilson shared several screenshots of an Amazon page listing "Elden Ring." The page stated that the game would be released on Dec. 31, 2021. This release date is definitely just a place holder since no game was ever released a day before New Year.

Retail stores like Amazon usually use this date when games have no official release date yet. Another interesting part about the Amazon listing is the price of "Elden Ring." Based on the screenshots, the game costs a whopping $1,499, which could be very unlikely for a price of just one game.

Long before COVID-19 hit the world, Italian game journalist Francesco Fossetti claimed that the game could arrive in the late part of 2020. Earlier this year, several insiders claimed that the delayed release of "Elden Ring" was due to the effects of the pandemic. However, the developers are reportedly laying down the final touches on the game.

According to rumors, the game could arrive this year. Despite all these rumors and speculations about the game, FromSoftware has remained mum about the highly anticipated title. In one of its previous tweets, the gaming studio thanked fans for their support to "Demon's Souls" and for their patience on "Elden Ring." The studio has been silent since then.

It is worth noting that these details about the "Elden Ring" are not official. Fans should take this information with a good amount of skepticism.
