It's been more than a year since Tesla revealed its first version of the Cybertruck, and enthusiasts have been itching to find out more about the updated version of the vehicle. But according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, fans won't have to wait for much longer for the revisions to the Cybertruck design.

After one user tweeted Musk asking for an "update on Cybertruck's first delivery date, cool features or options," the billionaire replied that Tesla will most likely be providing more information about the Cybertruck in the second quarter of this year.

The SpaceX CEO also added that the forthcoming F-150 competitor will be built at the Gigafactory near Austin, Texas. The facility is currently under construction, with a completion date set for later this year.

"Update probably in Q2. Cybertruck will be built at Giga Texas, so the focus right now is on getting that beast built," Musk tweeted Saturday.

Musk also gave an update on the progress on the Cybertruck back in January, revealing that Tesla will soon begin designing an assembly line to build it.

"We're no longer iterating at the design center level or design level. We've got the designs fixed. We're getting to -- we'll soon order the equipment necessary to make the Cybertruck work," he said.

The Cybertruck was first revealed at the Tesla Design Studio in Los Angeles in November 2019. During its highly anticipated unveiling, the sides of the truck were hit with a sledgehammer to demonstrate the strength of the truck's body panels. However, the truck's "Armor Glass" windows, which claimed to be virtually unbreakable, cracked after Tesla designer Franz von Holzhausen threw steel balls at them during the demonstration.

Musk later said that smacking the truck with a sledgehammer before the steel ball demo had been a bad idea and admitted that Tesla's Cybertruck still had quality problems.

The current Cybertruck model hardly resembles a traditional truck, CNN noted. With its futuristic sharp angles, it looks like something out of "Total Recall."

Instead of the usual cab and bed that are distinctly separated, the Cybertruck's body appears to be a single form. Its exterior is also made from a newly developed stainless steel alloy, the same material used for SpaceX's rockets.

The truck also has lockable storage spaces under the hood and in the sides and will allow drivers to adjust the ride height of the truck for when they are on the highway or off-road using an adaptive air suspension system.

Musk has claimed that the Cybertruck will be able to tow over 20 times more than a Ford F-150 and will rocket from zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, faster than a Porsche 911.
