Almost six months after her death, "Empire" actress Lindsey Pearlman's cause of death was revealed to be suicide by sodium nitrite toxicity.

The actress was found dead inside a vehicle near a park in Hollywood, California, in February after being reported missing. Following an autopsy conducted by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, it was confirmed Monday that Lindsey died as a result of suicide caused by sodium nitrite toxicity. The coroner also noted they found non-toxic levels of lorazepam, metoclopramide, and codeine in her blood.

The California officials completed the autopsy for the actress days after her death in February. However, an official cause of death was not released at the time as the investigation continued.

Lindsey was reported missing by her family on Feb. 13. Her cousin, Savannah Pearlman, also took to Twitter on Feb. 17 to reveal the former "General Hospital" and "Vicious" star's phone was last pinged on Sunset Boulevard, just 1.5 miles away from where her body was eventually located near the intersection of Franklin Ave. and North Sierra Bonita Ave.

The police found her body inside a car parked near the entrance of the popular Hollywood hiking trail, Runyon Canyon Park, on Feb. 18. Officials listed the day she was found as the day of her death.

In a statement following her death, her husband, Vance Smith, took to Instagram to request for privacy as their family mourned her death.

"She's gone," he wrote. "I'm broken. I will share more later, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their love and efforts and ask you to respect the privacy of her family at this time."

Savannah also revealed on Twitter that Lindsey's sister requested they share the National Suicide Hotline so people suffering from depression would know that they are not alone.

"Please know that you are never truly alone. Lindsey's sister has asked that we share the National Suicide Hotline: 1-800-273-8255," she wrote.

Aside from "Empire," "General Hospital," and "Vicious," Lindsey also appeared in the Netflix series "Selena: The Series," "Sneaky Pete," "The Ms. Pat Show," and "American Housewife."
