March 4 is "Employee Appreciation Day," which celebrates the dedicated U.S. workforce. There are about 164 million Americans in the labor force, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The unemployment rates continue to fluctuate amid the coronavirus pandemic and during a labor shortage. Employee Appreciation Day allows companies the opportunity to thank their staffers for their hard work.
