“Fast & Furious 8” might take place in New York City, actor Vin Diesel is hinting. In a recent Instagram post, Diesel teased the Big Apple location for the film. He posted an image of the New York skyline with the title of “Fast & Furious 8” set against it. He captioned the post as #Toretto.

Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto, will appear in the next “Fast & Furious” installment. The events of the film will be set after “Furious 7” and it will open in the theatres April 14, 2017. The plot of the film is currently unknown, but the 47-year-old actor previously hinted that events will take place in New York during an appearance on ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Said the actor: “I always think of these films multiple pictures in advance. Kurt Russell came in for this movie but we really hired him for a story that follows this that takes place in New York," Slash Film reported.

Russell played Mr. Nobody in “Furious 7.” He assisted Dom in stopping Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in exchange for safeguarding a computer program called the God’s Eye. Toretto’s team was seen heading from Los Angeles to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in “Furious 7.”

Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson, who plays Hobbs in the franchise, has confirmed his return in “Fast & Furious 8.” “It can’t go on without Hobbs,” he said during a news conference for his upcoming film “San Andreas,” Collider reported. Johnson also discussed the possibility of a solo film concerning Hobbs. “I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we’ll see. I still think for me personally we’ve created a little bit of space for him in '7' and the gauge is set for what the audience will want,” he revealed.

“Fast & Furious 8” is currently in pre-production. The director and the complete cast have yet to be finalized. “Furious 7” has made $1.5 billion worldwide.
