Last night New York had a spectacular firework display over the Hudson River. Orchestrated and synchronized to music, the powerful and mesmerizing show included songs from James Taylor, Katy Perry, LeAnn Rhymes, Jennifer Hudson and more.

New York City's 4th of July live events ranged from performances by Beyonce to Brad Paisley and spectators saw 40,000 fireworks shoot into the Manhattan sky.The Macy's event is the nation's largest 4th of July pyrotechnic display. This year, which also coincides with the Statue of Liberty's 125th anniversary, and the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, didn't disappoint.

Live from the Statue of Liberty was a 'dazzling, soul-stirring salute' to the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.

The show aired on NBC. Hosting the show was Nick Lachey.

The firework display

With millions of live spectators, and millions tuning in nationwide, the Hudson River hosted an explosion worthy of any painter's canvas, or any photographer's lens. Set off from six barges, stretching from 20th to 55th Streets, with 50 different shape effects and 17 colors, the massive display was a sight to see.
