Sugar Lyn Beard has landed a role in Season 4 of “The Flash.”

According to Variety, Beard will play the role of Rebecca Sharpe, a.k.a. Hazard, in episode 3 of the upcoming season of The CW series. Following a series of bad luck, Sharpe is convinced that her life is cursed — until a freak accident changes everything. With the universe now on her side, Sharpe becomes a threat to Central City and to Team Flash.

Beard was spotted filming Season 4, episode 3 in downtown Vancouver last month. According to HollywoodNorth.buzz, the Canadian actress filmed a sequence, in which her character — with a trolley bag in tow — runs for a Central City bus. When Rebecca boards the bus, a flash of light reportedly comes about, leading the news outlet to speculate that Rebecca is struck by the dark matter from the particle accelerator explosion.

In another scene filmed on the same day, Rebecca walks into a bank and creates havoc. Beard’s character leaves the building holding two money bags.

In the comics, Hazard was the granddaughter of the criminal known as the Gambler. She joined the Injustice Unlimited to get revenge on Infinity Inc. for her grandfather’s death. Hazard’s conscience, however, was troubled when Injustice Unlimited threatened to kill Mike Dugan, the innocent son of Infinity Inc.’s mechanic, Stripesy. She refused to become a murderer and turned against her own team. Since then, Hazard has appeared infrequently.

Created by Roy Thomas and Todd McFarlane, Hazard first appeared in 1987’s “Infinity Inc. #34.” Hazard’s powers include probability manipulation.

Beard, who appeared in the 2016 film “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” is the latest addition to the growing list of newcomers to Season 4 of “The Flash.” The 35-year-old actress joins previously announced newcomers Neil Sandilands, Kim Engelbrecht, Danny Trejo and Hartley Sawyer.

Sandilands will portray Season 4’s big bad Clifford DeVoe, a.k.a. The Thinker. Engelbrecht will play DeVoe’s right hand The Mechanic, while Trejo will appear as Gypsy’s (Jessica Camacho) father, Breacher. Sawyer, meanwhile, will recur as Ralph Dibny, a.k.a. Elongated Man.

“The Flash” Season 4 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
