The truth behind Floyd Mayweather’s "Best MMA Fighter" claim may been exposed, and apparently, the undefeated champ wants fans to get involved in his talked-about rematch with Conor McGregor.

Mayweather has been active in MMA since he announced his retirement from boxing. Not only did he actually fought in MMA, he also defeated a real MMA champ in the past.

With all the things Mayweather has accomplished in MMA thus far, it seems like he really knows what he is doing. In fact, he may have felt that he already has the right to tell the world who the best MMA fighter is.

Just recently, Mayweather took to Twitter his pick for the “best MMA fighter in the world.” According to the boxing champ, Makhmud “Mach” Muradov deserves the recognition. However, things just don’t seem like they appear to be.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani may have revealed the truth about Mayweather’s claim. According to Helwani, from what he is told, Muradov is the only MMA fighter currently signed to Mayweather’s “The Money Team” (TMT) promotion.

Which simply concludes that the boxing champ turned entrepreneur was just promoting his MMA fighter and his promotion.

Mayweather signed the Uzbekistan native, who currently resides in the Czech Republic, to TMT in March of last year. Muradov, who currently holds a record of 22 wins and 6 losses, has previously stated his aspirations of one day competing in the UFC.

“I’m very happy, for me big step for my dream, to go to the UFC,” Muradov stated upon signing with TMT in 2018.

Muradov has already competed four times in 2019. And his most recent victory was against UFC veteran Wendell Oliveira at Oktagon 13 in July. Despite Muradov’s impressive MMA record, it is quite evident that he is still far from being the best MMA fighter in the world.

Meanwhile, Mayweather and his former rival McGregor, have elevated their war of words on social media. This time, the two combat sports superstars have asked fans to get involved.

In the past week, both retired fighters posted photos of their 2017 fight and asked their millions of followers to caption the handpicked photos.

Last Monday, Mayweather posted an intense face-off photo from their 2017 promotional tour with the words “Caption This.”

Then on Thursday, McGregor fired back and posted a suggestive photo from their 2017 bout and encouraged his more than 30 million followers to caption it as well.
