Ford (F) has filed for a new trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, leaving questions to exactly what the automaker has planned for the new Everglades moniker it got approved for.

In July, Ford has plans to unveil the Bronco 4x4 SUV after delaying its spring reveal because of the coronavirus. There is speculation that the Everglades trademark could be centered around the Bronco and its counterpart, the Bronco Sport – both 2021 models.

In its filing, Ford requested that the Everglades naming be used for “motor vehicles, namely, automobiles, pickup trucks, electric vehicles, sport-utility vehicles, off-road vehicles, and their structural parts,” CarBuzz reported.

Key to the trademark request by Ford is the possible use of it for an electric vehicle, which could mean that the company is looking to add to its EV lineup with an all-electric Bronco or another vehicle type. There have been reports that indicated that Ford may possibly offer the Bronco in an electric-powered model, but it was unclear at the time of writing if Everglades would be used for that vehicle in any way.

Other reports have also indicated that Ford could possibly use the trademark for its electrified F-150 pickup truck, which is slated to arrive in 2022. In both cases, it was unclear if the Everglades trademark would be used to brand these vehicles.

Shares of Ford stock were up 5.30% as of market close on Friday.
