Everything went according to plan. First, game developer Epic Games, officially, closed the book on the battle royale game’s first phase with a huge black hole event on October 13. That huge climatic event has left "Fortnite" offline for two days; everything went on silence. Then, comes a new ray of light, a fresh start for the world’s most popular video games, "Fortnite" is back and officially signing on.

According to CNBC, Epic Games has launched a massive update after two days of dark and silence on "Fortnite." The game developer called this huge update as Chapter 2; the start of a new world for Fortnite players. The latest update brought a new map, new weapons, new goals, and new features on board. Epic Games’ Chapter 2 brought the biggest changes "Fortnite" has seen since it introduced to the gaming world in 2017.

Here’s what we get from the Fortnite: Chapter 2

"Fortnite" Chapter 2 is here and brings a major facelift for the game. Some changes made by Epic Games are obvious, like a new island while other changes made are not easy to notice. Most of the updates are made to help improve the gaming experience and bring more fun to the "Fortnite" gaming community.

Epic Games is adding a new item in "Fortnite" Chapter 2 and its called the fishing pole. This new item can be found all over the island. When equipped, a player can drop a hook in a river or lake to find fish that replenish health and weapons. In addition to that, fishing poles can also be used to grab other players and pull them to safety. In fact, a Fortnite player has already tested this new item with his "Fortnite" teammate. The player even posted on Reddit, detailing how the new item helped him save the life of his cohort.

The Slurpy Swamp in another interesting addition in the new map and this new feature can heal players. The Slurpy Swap is based around a Slurp Juice factory. This factory is the source of a consumable item known as the Slurp Juice, which gives "Fortnite" players a shield. The factory also dumped this consumable item into the waters around it. So, players can also use waterways to replenish health. There’s also a sewer pipe exit that can be used by the players to speed up their health and shield gauge.

The developer added some small changes like the storm circle, which helps Fortnite players to see through the storm. The storm circle might be small but it could be a huge tool for snipping players running the storm. Another small change can be found at Retail Row, where the player can see a giant dancing fish hanging in the building.

The huge update also brings lots of beaches, which also include some buried treasure. Players are advised to keep their ears open to any sound effect emanating from the sands on various beaches. Chapter 2 also introduced motorboats, which Epic Games added to help players navigate through the waters. The motorboats' functionality doesn’t stop on waters since players can also take these on land and air.

While swimming offers a faster way to move across the island, there’s also another way to get even faster -- by jumping. This huge update gives "Fortnite" players some speed boot. By pressing the jump button while swimming, players can now get a quick dolphin hop out of the water. Doing this will keep "Fortnite" players flying across the water.

Finally, the latest update will now allow players to carry downed opponents. Many have already joked about this new feature, calling it kidnapping. Some players have, reportedly, posted some hilarious video of "Fortnite" players carrying opponents on its back and, then, suddenly dropping them off buildings.

Other improvements and changes made

While Chapter 2 brings tons of new features, Epic Games has removed about two dozen weapons items to simplify the game’s firefights and gameplay, leaving Fortnite players with a much more basic selection at the start of the "Fortnite" Chapter 2. Gamers can also upgrade their weapons by finding upgrade benches on the game. Unfortunately, the game developer also declined to provide a full list of the new items added to the new "Fortnite" world.

In addition to the changes in weapons items, the developer also made some improvements to the game’s battle pass systems. The goal is to make it easier for players to earn rewards.
