Jon Snow has had some iconic things to say on "Game of Thrones." Macall B. Polay/HBO

With Season 8 of “Game of Thrones” just days away, the end is officially coming near. Sadly, that also means the final days of some fan-favorite characters—like Jon Snow—are also near.

While Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) fate after the final season of the HBO series ends hasn’t yet been determined, he’s sure to still have some interesting conversations before the finale. Whether these great lines will happen during his long-awaited reunion with Arya (Maisie Williams), or when he actually learns who Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) really is to him, he’s sure to be saving the best for last.

Of course, since any character could die at any moment, Jon Snow could also die in the first episode. In case that happens and he doesn’t get a chance to say a new iconic quote, here are some of the best things he’s had to say throughout the series.

When He Was Being Wise:

  • “Lord Stark? There are five pups, one for each of the Stark children. The direwolf is the sigil of your House. They were meant to have them.”
  • “My father taught me big men fall just as quick as little ones if you put a sword through their hearts.”
  • “You’re right. There’s no need for a battle. Thousands of men don’t need to die. Only one of us. Let’s end this the old way. You, against me.”

When He Showed His Kind Side:

  • “Sam’s no different from the rest of us. There was no place for him in the world, so he’s come here. We’re not gonna hurt him in the training yard anymore. Never again, no matter what Thorne says. He’s our brother now, and we’re going to protect him.”
  • “They were born on the wrong side of the Wall—doesn’t make them monsters.”

When He Made A Grand Speech:

  • “You all crowned me your king. I never wanted it. I never asked for it. But I accepted it because the North is my home! It’s part of me, and I will never stop fighting for it, no matter the odds! But the odds are against us. None of you have seen the Army of the Dead. None of you. We can never hope to defeat them alone. We need allies. Powerful allies. I know it’s a risk, but I know I have to take it.”
  • “With respect, Your Grace, I don’t need your permission: I am a King! Now I came here, knowing that you could have your men behead me or your dragons burn me alive. I put my trust in you, a stranger because I knew it was the best chance for my people, for all our people. Now I’m asking you to trust in a stranger because it’s our best chance.”
  • “This isn’t about living in harmony; It’s just about living. The same thing is coming for all of us; a general you can’t negotiate with, an army that doesn’t leave corpses behind on the battlefield. Lord Tyrion tells me a million people live in this city...they’re about to become a million soldiers in the army of the dead.”

When He Admitted He’s Not Very Poetic:

  • “It’s...there’s this person, there’s this whole other person, and you’re wrapped in them, they’re wrapped up in you, and...you...for a little...for a little while you’re more than just you, you’re...well, I don’t know, I’m not a bleeding poet!”

When He Admitted He’s Tired:

  • “I’m tired of fighting! It’s all I’ve done since I’ve left home! I’ve killed brothers of the Night’s Watch, I’ve killed wildings, I’ve killed men I admire, I hung a boy younger than Bran! I fought...and I lost.”

When He Quoted His ‘Father:’

  • “What did Father use to say? ‘Everything before the word ‘but’ is horse-shit.’”

When He Said What Everyone Else Was Thinking:

  • Daenerys: “I can’t have children.”
  • Jon: “Who told you that?”
  • Daenerys: “The witch who murdered my husband.”
  • Jon: “Has it occurred to you she might not have been a reliable source of information?”
