The fans did not like the last season of “Game of Thrones,” but the show managed to reach the top spot in the IMDb top 10 TV shows for 2019. Here’s a look at the full list of the most popular shows this year.

Number 10: “You”

“You” started in 2018, and it is about a bookstore manager who makes a woman of his dreams fall in love with him. The trailer however shows that the romantic drama actually has a twist.

Number 9: “Sex Education”

This new show is about a teenage boy and his sex therapist mother setting up an underground sex therapy clinic at school with the help of the boy’s classmate. The show is filled with awkward conversations and funny situations.

Number 8: “Peaky Blinders”

With seven seasons under its belt, “Peaky Blinders” continues to entrain the fans. Set during 1919 in Birmingham, England, the plot is about a gangster family.

Number 7: “The Walking Dead”

The popular zombie series hit a rough patch after the exit of several key characters, but the show has once again become popular with the fans. Season 10 is about the heroes fighting against a mysterious group known as the Whisperers.

Number 6: “Black Mirror”

“Black Mirror” has multiple stories with famous actors. The plot is about humanity’s greatest innovations and dark instincts.

Number 5: “The Boys”

After the success of superhero movies, “The Boys” flips the narrative with a group of vigilantes taking on corrupt superheroes who abuse their powers. This is one of the two shows in the top 10 list that is about superheroes.

Number 4: “The Umbrella Academy”

A superhero comedy, this show is about a group of child superheroes who grow apart when they grow older. They have to come together once again in order to save the world from certain destruction.

Number 3: “Stranger Things”

One of the most popular fantasy horror shows, “Stranger Things” started with the search for a boy who disappears without a trace. The heroes fight with supernatural forces in order to get the boy back.

Number 2: “Chernobyl”

This TV mini-series is about the tragic explosion at the Soviet nuclear power plant in 1986. The show has only one season.

Number 1: “Game of Thrones”

The final season of “Game of Thrones” was about the fight against the Night King and against Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). HBO has planned a few more sin-off shows based on the same fictitious world.
