Fishing fans in “Genshin Impact” will have more to look forward to, as the Lunar Realm fishing event is about to go live very soon. Kujirai Momiji of the Inazuma Fishing Association has a proposal to all Travelers who are willing to spend a little time with her as she tries to catch the legendary Lunar Leviathan.

The Lunar Realm event will give “Genshin Impact” players a chance to get the Moonstringer, an ornate event-exclusive fishing rod that makes catching fish easier and less time-consuming regardless of location. But since it’s an event reward, players will have to go through extra hoops before they can claim this prize.

Here’s an overview of the Lunar Realm fishing event and the steps required to get the Moonstringer fishing rod in “Genshin Impact.”

The Lunar Realm event

In this event, players will mostly be concerned with catching fish. Those who have been farming for The Catch will be more or less familiar with what kind of grind they can expect.

Lunar Realm will have certain objectives that players will have to finish in order to gain rewards, similar to other events in the past. Players will have to visit special fishing spots that will pop up around Teyvat and finish these objectives to obtain rewards.

Only a special type of fishing bait can be used in these spots, and players will be able to get more rewards depending on their performance per fishing spot.

How to get the Moonstringer fishing rod

The event-exclusive fishing rod can be acquired by simply completing the objectives in the event. It’s likely that the rod will be locked near the end of the event.

Throughout the duration of the Lunar Realm event, players will be able to obtain the usual bundles of Primogems, Mora, XP Tomes and Mystic Enhancement Ores like in other events. However, the event will also reward players with Mysterious Ornamental Fish for their teapots as well as Sanctifying Unctions that are used for upgrading artifacts.

The event will begin Friday (server time) and end on Sept. 20. Afterward, the Moonlight Merriment event will take place on Liyue and give players the opportunity to earn the Luxurious Sea-Lord claymore.
