Google is rumored to be working on a successor model for the Nexus 7 (2013). The rumor mill is referring to the alleged tablet as Nexus 7 (2016) and it will be built by Huawei. Since the Google Nexus 7 (2013) from Asus is available only for $100, speculations are suggesting that the Nexus 7 (2016) may get announced soon.

As of this writing, Google has not confirmed anything on building a new Nexus 7 (2016) tablet. However, rumors are swirling that after it partnered with Huawei for building the Nexus 6P flagship smartphone, both the companies will be again collaborating on building Nexus 7 (2016) tablet, G for Games reported.

The older Nexus 7 (2013), a product from Asus, was not succeeded by a new 7-inch tablet in 2014. However, its successor is expected to arrive after three years in 2016. The arrival of the tablet has become imminent as the price of the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet has been reduced to $100 on Groupon.

The 16 GB Nexus 7 (2013) was available for around $124 few weeks ago and then its price came down to $109. And now the price of the device has been slashed to $100. Even though it’s an old tablet, Google has already made the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade available for it.

The official listing on Groupon states that the original price of the device is $218. Except for black and green color options, the Nexus 7 (2013) can be availed in colors like grey, orange and pink. It is a limited period that is expected to end soon. The retailer will deliver the ordered product in 2 days. The tablet also comes with an Optional Travel Cover.

The upcoming Google Nexus 7 (2016) is expected to arrive with flagship ships. It may feature the Kirin 950 chipset from Huawei. Its 7-inch display will support a resolution of 2560 x 1800 pixels. Speculations are claiming that the tablet will be showcased at the Google I/O 2016 in July or August.
