Robin Lord Taylor plays Penguin in “Gotham” Season 3. Fox

Oswald Cobblepot’s (Robin Lord Taylor) victory as mayor of Gotham City is quite sweet, but now that he is going to start his term, Penguin is going to realize that being a leader isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

In the upcoming “Gotham” Season 3 episode entitled “Mad City: Anything For You,” Penguin is going to be hounded by the Red Hood Gang, according to iTech Post. Penguin will be trying his best to help and comfort the less fortunate and keep the city’s crime rate down as these mysterious figures wreak havoc.

At the same time, the Red Hood Gang will also be influencing Penguin’s muscle, Butch Gillian (Drew Powell), and lead him towards a dark path.

Powell earlier said that Butch isn’t going to be happy under Penguin’s leadership because of his friendship with Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith). Butch and Nygma simply won’t get along, so Penguin will be put in a tough spot. “There’s this weird triangle between Penguin, Nygma, and Butch that starts near the beginning of the season, works through the first part, and I think will carry through the season of this weird dynamic,” Powell told Comic Book.

Meanwhile, Taylor said Penguin’s platform to “Make Gotham Safe Again” mirrors a certain presidential candidate’s promise in real life (to make America great again).

“Oswald is someone who comes to power through manipulation, and manipulation of people’s fears,” Taylor told Blastr. “What we’re seeing here is a reflection of what’s happening now, and someone who has no political office, has shady business dealings, is a master manipulator of everyone around him.”

“It makes our show more relevant than it has ever been,” he added. “When Gotham City starts to reflect the world we live in, it’s really f---ing scary.”

“Gotham” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
