A day after it was revealed that Tom Felton is not returning as a series regular for Season 4 of “The Flash,” the “Harry Potter” alum took to Instagram to express his love for Grant Gustin who plays the titular role on the CW series.

Felton’s Instagram post shows a photo of him with Gustin taken at Silicon Valley Comic Con last April. In the caption of the picture, Felton wrote that he loves Gustin and misses him.

Felton joined “The Flash” as a series regular in Season 3. The British actor played the role of Julian Albert who was later revealed to be Savitar’s underling, Dr. Alchemy. After he was freed from Savitar’s control, Julian joined Team Flash and helped protect Central City.

Although Julian was still a member of Team Flash at the end of last season, it seems that viewers won’t see the character at the beginning of Season 4 as Entertainment Weekly reported that Felton has not yet booked a return to the show.

During this year’s Silicon Valley Comic Con, Gustin and Felton revealed that they were well aware of their great chemistry on screen and admitted that they actually campaigned for a plot twist in which their characters become lovers. “I genuinely thought it would be a lovely twist if towards the end of the season. Barry and Julian ran off together,” Felton said (via San Francisco Chronicle), prompting cheers from the audience.

“We thought it would be kind of funny — fun rather — to go in that direction because we have such fun chemistry,” added Gustin.

Although the writers didn’t buy it, Gustin said that seeing a world in which Barry and Julian are in a romantic relationship with each other isn’t impossible as “The Flash” has multiple universes to play with. “[The show could add an] Earth-5 where like we’ve been together for 30 years,” Gustin joked, drawing laughter from the crowd.
