Clothing giant H&M has removed Justin Bieber-inspired clothing after the singer publicly slammed the items, calling the line "trash."

"The H&M Merch they made out of me is trash, and I didn't approve it," Bieber posted on his Instagram story on Tuesday. "Don't buy it."

The 28-year-old Canadian singer said H&M did not ask for his expressed permission to release the clothing line.

"I didn't approve any of the merch collection they put up at H&M... all without my permission and approval."

The clothing items depict collaged images of Bieber on white t-shirts and his lyrics on brightly colored hoodies.

"As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures," an H&M spokesperson said.

"But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber we have removed the garments from our stores and online."

Pop singers Rihanna and Ariana Grande have also taken action against companies that used their images without their approval.

In 2020, H&M released Bieber-inspired clothing from his fifth studio album, "Changes." The merchandise included clothing with his name, a cartoon version of his likeness, and the album title.

Sweden-based H&M has over 4,800 locations worldwide.
