Meghan Markle has found herself at the center of questionable headlines due to her father, Thomas Markle’s, friendly relationship with the press. Luckily, the Duchess of Sussex reportedly has a strong support system at Kensington Palace that includes Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Harry.

The 37-year-old, who married the Prince on May 19, has not commented on her current relationship with her father. However, those close to the former actress believe the negative press the 74-year-old has caused is taking an emotional toll on the Hollywood actress.

Despite the claims Markle’s father has made about the royal family in the press, Queen Elizabeth II has stood by the former “Suits” star’s side. “What may surprise some is just how supportive Her Majesty has been during the problems Meghan has faced with her family,” a Buckingham Palace source told Us Weekly.

“Meghan is in a tough place, and the queen knows it’s completely out of Meghan’s hands. She has only sympathy for what’s been a difficult and distressing situation for her,” the insider shared.

After Markle became an official member of the royal family, the Duchess of Sussex and British Monarch began spending more time together due to their royal obligations. Between traveling to different parts of the world and attending extravagant events together, the two have formed a genuine bond.

“While Meghan and the queen come from two very different backgrounds and generations, there’s a warmth between the two that’s genuine and loving,” a source explained.

Markle reportedly has Prince Harry to thank for her close relationship with the Queen. The 33-year-old reportedly scheduled a sit-down with his grandmother after determining he his relationship with the actress was serious. “He wanted to make sure every family member knew that the queen supported the relationship,” a second source revealed.

The star reportedly cut off communication with her dad following the royal wedding. Although the patriarch, who previously admitted to staging photos with the paparazzi, was expected to walk his daughter down the aisle, medical issues prevented him from attending the ceremony.

Instead, Prince Charles gave the actress away and by June, Thomas Markle was appearing on ”Good Morning Britain.” During his time on the daytime show, he shared details about his private conversations with Prince Harry.

The comments reportedly put further strain on his relationship with his daughter. “Meghan is absolutely broken by the drama with her father,” a Markle confidante revealed.

“There’s no way she can have a relationship with him or even reach out to him to stop him from speaking. She knows he’ll record the conversation and sell it. She has high anxiety wondering if this will go on forever.”

While it is unclear whether Markle will be able to fix her relationship with her father, sources insist that behind closed doors, the Duchess of Sussex has several people who continue to stand by her side during this stressful time.
