George Clooney thought that he would never get married again and have kids until he met his wife, Amal.

Prior to meeting and marrying Amal, George was previously married to Talia Balsam. Apparently, his first marriage didn’t work and the “Money Monster” star thought that a family life was never meant for him. Balsam and Clooney were married in 1989, but they divorced four years later.

“I wasn't very good at it,” Clooney told Esquire UK in January 2014 about his first marriage (via E! News). “I was quoted as saying I'll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I've never talked about it since.”

In an interview with The Express in the same month, Clooney said the same thing. “I keep saying I'll never get married again or have children but people just don't want to believe me,” the actor was quoted saying.

However, when he met the humanitarian lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, his mind about having a family changed. Even his close pal Matt Damon noticed it.

“But once he met [Amal], everything changed,” Damon said.

George and Amal met at a common friend’s fundraiser event in September 2013. After a month, they were spotted enjoying dinner. The couple started dating and eventually exchanged “I do’s” in 2014.

Clooney was surprised that they shared the same perspective about having kids because they didn’t talk about it until after they got married.

“There was an assumption that we didn't want them,” George told The Hollywood Reporter about having kids. “And then after the wedding, Amal and I were talking and we just felt like we'd gotten very lucky, both of us, and we should share whatever good luck we've got. It would seem self-centered to just have that belong to us.”

On June 6, 2017, George and Amal welcomed their twins, Ella and Alexander. The actor was very happy with his family and admitted that he was a hands-on dad. In fact, his friends saw him changing his children’s diapers.

“Now my house is filled with the warm sounds of babies crying. You should see when my friends show up and see me change a diaper, the laughter that comes from them. I go, 'I know, I know.' I've given them so much s--t for so many years, I deserve every bit of it,” Clooney told THR.

George and Amal are already happy with their brood. Amal said in a previous interview that she has no plans in having more because “I already had them quite late.”
