Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly rebuked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for their extravagance.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge flew to Scotland in a commercial flight amid the intense backlash the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are facing for traveling in private jets. According to Tom Sykes of The Daily Beast, this is Prince William and Middleton’s “symbolic rebuke to the other couple’s extravagance.”

Others accused Prince William and Middleton of doing it as a PR stunt due to the timing. However, according to an insider, the Cambridges have always tried to keep their flight expenses minimal.

“William and Kate always fly budget whenever possible when they are flying on personal and private trips,” a source told the publication. “The basic reason for that is very simple: It’s because they have to pay for their own flights if it’s a private trip and they don’t like wasting money.”

Libby Purves of The Daily Mail also said that the Cambridges’ budget Flybe flight was a “first class lesson” for the Sussexes. Many slammed Prince William and Middleton and accused them of flying commercially to troll Prince Harry and Markle.

Some cynically believed that it was just a publicity stunt to make themselves look good. They reportedly did it to make a point about Prince Harry and Markle’s showy excess. However, Purves was not convinced that it was due to their rumored beef.

“Frankly, I don’t think it’s a feud, because I don’t believe Prince William is small-minded enough to risk all those years of fraternal solidarity after the loss of their mother,“ Purvy wrote.

She added that it was possible that the Cambridges just took a budget flight like Princess Diana, who often did it because the Norwich airport is small and not fussy. She also insisted that there’s no reason for Prince William to act so self-important as he is ascending to the throne eventually.

On the other hand, Prince Harry and Markle are getting it disastrously wrong just a year after their royal wedding. For her, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s attitude screams “Hollywood entitlement.” They wanted the public to pay for their home refurbishment but not witness their son’s christening or even know the baby’s godparents’ names.
