Although fans of the royal family are fascinated with speculation about Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s feud, it appears that their rumored spat is actually a “ruse” to cover up the tension between their husbands, Prince Harry and Prince William.

Rather than Meghan and Kate being embroiled in an ongoing war, royal commentator Martin Townsend reportedly suggested a feud between William and Harry was “more realistic.”

According to Townsend, there is a tattered history between the two brothers that could now be affecting their relationship.

“There was this suggestion that William had had a word with Harry before the wedding to Meghan, saying he didn’t think Meghan was really Princess material. Apparently, that really upset Harry,” the commentator explained.

However, that wasn’t the only alleged issue in Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship. “There are stories that have emerged recently about a rift going back many, many years where Harry would behave badly,” he recalled.

“There was a time when Harry was cautioned by the Police for underage drinking and smoking, and he thought that he was getting all the blame for that whereas William’s behavior was just as bad. William was getting away with it.”

Due to the events that have unfolded between the brothers, Townsend believes their problematic relationship makes more sense than Meghan and Kate’s feud. “There are these historic rifts and then there are a few tensions around the whole Harry and Meghan thing.”

Nonetheless, Kensington Palace has not addressed reports alleging there is a royal feud.
