Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been keeping the royal family updated following the birth of their daughter, Lilibet, according to a report.

Shortly after welcoming their second child in Santa Barbara, California, on June 4, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a snap of baby Lili on the royal family's WhatsApp group, where extended family members stay in touch with each other, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Prince Harry used the same app to tell his cousins about the birth of his son Archie in 2019.

Mike Tindall, husband to Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter Zara Tindall, told U.K.'s The Telegraph at the time that the Duke of Sussex sent a message to their cousins' WhatsApp group on the day Markle delivered their son. The members of the group also included Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Tindall said in another interview that they kept each other in the loop on wedding preparations and pregnancies through the app. They also used WhatsApp for updates on Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding preparations in 2018 and Kate Middleton’s pregnancy with baby Louis.

"Me, my brother and then a few of Zara’s side like her brother Pete and the cousins are on WhatsApp groups," Tindall told The Daily Mirror in 2018.

"I wouldn’t say we’re cutting edge, but it’s just easier for some reason on WhatsApp. I’m in about 25,000 groups. You might do it for a get-together and just stay on the group, and occasionally people will post. You’re scared to leave because you don’t want to be seen to be rude," he continued.

Reports of Prince Harry and Markle sharing a picture of their baby girl with the royals came shortly after Kate Middleton was asked about her new niece. The Duchess of Cambridge gave a sweet message for Prince Harry and Markle's little girl and expressed her excitement over meeting the Sussexes' youngest child in the future.

"I wish her all the very best. I can't wait to meet her," Middleton said when asked by NBC News chief foreign correspondent Andrea Mitchell about baby Lili during a press conference with first lady Jill Biden Friday. "We haven't met her yet. I hope that will be soon."

When Middleton was asked if she had FaceTimed with Lili, she replied, "No, I haven't."
