The first trailer of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” features “Game of Thrones” actress Gwendoline Christie. A report now reveals details about her character and the character’s relevance in the movie's plot. [Spoiler alert]

Christie plays Commander Lyme, a character who will be seen for the first time in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.” She is said to be over 6 feet tall and a former champion of the games conducted by the Capitol. According to Entertainment Weekly, the role was supposed to go to Lily Rabe, who apparently had to drop out of the project. The character is said to be a rebel commander fighting against President Snow (Donald Sutherland).

Citing the books on which the movie is based, the report states that Lyme plays a significant role in the fight against the Capitol. The character is from District 2, which is located close to the Capitol and is the district in which most of Snow's military force is based.

By the end of Part 1, many of the districts were said to have joined hands with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence). Katniss emerged as the symbol of the resistance and was used in propaganda messages in Part 1. The main plot of Part 2 revolves around Katniss committing herself to lead the rebellion in a final showdown against Snow.

According to MTV, filming for what may be the last “Hunger Games” movie ended Sunday. The report cites a tweet by director Francis Lawrence stating that they were filming some of the last scenes for the movie. There has still not been any official announcement about any spinoff movies from the franchise based in the fantasy world of Panem.

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” is slated to be released Nov. 20 in the U.S.
