The new iPad mini 6 reportedly encounters the jelly scrolling issue when the device is set on portrait mode.

Jelly scrolling is the wobbling effect wherein one side of the screen scrolls at a different rate; faster or slower than the other side, Engadget reported.

The effect is visible when the new iPad mini 6 is in portrait view. The wobbling effect does not show up in landscape mode. iPad mini users view the device on a portrait view more often than in landscape.

The complaining customers said the jelly scrolling effect happens the screen’s content is moved quickly. Users also noticed the wobble was mostly on the lower part of the middle screen.

Using the iPad mini in portrait position, there is a noticeable lag in the display update on the left side of the screen, reports said. The display update would first show up on the right side before the left. When the tablet is turned upside down, the left side will update faster than the right.

One customer claimed that they went to the Apple Store to report the issue, they tried to replace the device assuming it was broken.

However, all of the units have an exactly similar problem.

On Twitter, a reporter from The Verge showed the slow-mo demonstration of the jelly scrolling effect on his new iPad mini 6.

In the Twitter update posted on Sep. 22, Dieter Bohn, The Verge reporter also showed how the wobble did seem unnoticeable when the iPad mini 6 was in a landscape orientation

Apple Insider reports that the problem could be with the LCD display panel itself. Other reports suggest that the issue could come from the display controllers or could be a software or firmware issue.

This week, Apple introduced the iPad mini 6 packaged with modern innovation. Aside from the noticeably modern design, the tablet comes powered by the A15 processor.

This is not the first time this year that Apple received complaints on the touch interface issue. In May, Siri Remote for Apple TV 4K users complained about a problem while attempting to scrub through social media. The problem seems to have something to do with the gesture for a circular trackpad.
