Those lucky few million people who are purchasing or receiving their iPhone X handsets Friday are going to need to know how to handle the device.

Apple introduced several changes to the hardware and software of the iPhone X, making its functionality very different than prior iPhones. Not only does the device’s lack of a home button change many functions, but iOS 11 also comes with its own updates, such as a complete revamp of the control center.

Many reviews have indicated it takes about two days to learn the new buttonless functionality of the device. Here are some quick tips on how to handle the iPhone X.

How To Close Apps

Closing apps on an iPhone X is actually pretty simple, even without a home button. Users need only swipe up from the bottom of the display to close an all or go to the home screen.

How Switching and Force Closing Apps

To access recent apps and switch between apps, users must swipe up on the display half way and pause until all recent apps appear. From here users can sift through apps to bring a new app to the main screen. If an app is freezing or acting up in some way users can force close the app by swiping up on that app to clear it from recents.

How To Turn Off iPhone X

To power down an iPhone X users need to hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time. This will prop a “slide the power off” screen and from there users can complete the action.

How To Force Restart iPhone

To force restart an iPhone X users need to first press the volume up button, the volume down button then the side button.
