Chris Brown has added yet another tattoo to his ever-expanding collection. This time, he chose a lion’s head. Brown posted a picture to his Instagram account of his throat, which is where this latest design was inked.

The photo included the caption: “Symbol of Christ and Freedom!” It is doubtful that this lion tattoo will be mistaken for Rihanna’s face, as his other neck tattoo was just last month.

According to the New York Daily News, the black-and-white image on Brown's neck shows a woman with a bone structure strikingly similar to that of Rihanna. Her lips are covered in stitches and she looks like she has a black eye and bruising on the right side of her face.

Sources close to Brown told TMZ that any similarities the picture has with Rihanna's face are simply coincidental, as "It's a random woman."

Brown defended the image, writing on twitter: "I'm an artist and this is art. Dia de los Muertos."

His rep also told E! News that the neck art is a cross between "a sugar skull and a MAC cosmetics design he saw," according to the Daily News. Sugar skulls are associated with the Mexican celebration Dia de los Muertos, or, Day of the Dead.

However, the image looks very much like Rihanna's face after Brown assaulted her in 2009, which resulted in her having a black eye and bruised lip.

Both Rihanna and Brown are known to enjoy new body art, as Rihanna has over 15 tattoos, including a handgun on her ribs, a pistol on her thigh, and stars on the back of her neck. Back in 2009, while she was still with Brown, they got matching star tattoos on the back of their necks.

Rihanna most recent added a tattoo of a Goddess to her elaborate collection, an ode to her grandmother who passed away recently while battling cancer.
