FoxNext Games and East Side Games have announced a new mobile game based on the FXX comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” The new mobile game will be released later this year and it will feature all of the characters from the show.

The mobile game is called “It’s Always Sunny: The Gang Goes Mobile” and it will let players team up with The Gang: Mac, Dennis, Charlie, Dee and Frank. The game will feature the fan-favorite gags, storylines and moments from the original series. Specific details about the game are limited at the moment, but players will be able to collect other fan-favorite characters from the show.

“It’s Always Sunny: the Gang Goes Mobile” will also feature a new storyline. Frank will come across a bunch of dirty money and he will need to hide it from the feds. This is why he gets The Gang together to do most of the work. Mac, Dennis and Dee will be in charge of finding a way to launder the dirty money, while Charlie will be tasked to hide the clean money in a safe place.

FoxNext games also released a pictogram-style note that vaguely sets up the premise of the upcoming mobile game. The Hollywood Reporter claims that this is a clue written by Charlie and it seems like he is looking for a friend to help him out as he may have already burned Frank’s cash.

“At FoxNext Games, we take pride in selecting the best studio partners to bring our games to life, and East Side Games’ reputation of creating deep, dynamic mobile worlds made them the perfect match to transform ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ into a one-of-a-kind gaming experience that extends the show narrative,” FoxNext Games president of licensing and publishing Rock Philips said.

“It’s Always Sunny: The Gang Goes Mobile” will be a free-to-play mobile game. The art style that’s been revealed so far suggests that it will look similar to East Side Games’ previous titles “Pot Farm” and “Trailer Park Boys,” as pointed out by Android Authority. Unfortunately, no other information on actual gameplay was provided by FoxNext or East Side Games.

“The Gang Goes Mobile” doesn’t have an exact release date, but it will be released sometime later this year. Season 13 of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 5 on FXX. It’s possible that the mobile game might be released around the same time. For those who want to play as soon as it’s available, they can go to the game’s official website to receive updates.
