Rahul Kohli as Ravi

Although Peyton (Aly Michalka) effectively ended his romantic relationship with Blaine (David Anders) after he confessed that he’s just faking his memory loss, “iZombie” executive producer Rob Thomas said that viewers won’t see Peyton rekindle her romance with her former boyfriend, Ravi (Rahul Kohli), anytime soon.

“Clearly she’s done with Blaine,” Thomas told Access Hollywood of Peyton. “But I think Ravi hurt her in the way he treated her during [the Katty Kupps (Christina Cox) situation]. Not just the Katty Kupps [situation], but the fact that he was so jealous and a little mean-spirited to her. So they are going to have to rebuild some trust and friendship before anything romantic could happen on their front.”

Thomas pointed out to Entertainment Weekly that Ravi has not behaved well since he found out that Peyton slept with Blaine. And although it’s going to take some time to fix the damage that Ravi did to his relationship with Peyton, the executive producer said that the medical examiner “is going to try to repair that.”

Although viewers won’t see Peyton and Ravi rekindle their romance anytime soon, both characters will be both busy with their own work in the remaining episodes of Season 3. Peyton will continue to have doubts about the dominatrix case, while Ravi will be working on a new project.

“At the end of the dominatrix case (Season 3, episode 5), the guy they bring in seems to just give up immediately, and we wanted that to strike people as a little odd, and in … episode 6, it does strike Peyton as odd,” Thomas told E! News. “And she is going to start pulling at some threads there and she’s going to become very suspicious, even though she’s supposed to be the prosecutor, she’s going to come to not believe her own case. And as she starts pulling at some threads, she will discover new stuff. We didn’t want Peyton just to be there as an object of male affection. We wanted to give Peyton her own storyline, her own involvement in the mythology, and that’s sort of what happens when she starts pulling back the layers of that case.”

As for what’s next for Ravi, Thomas teased: “Scientifically, Ravi is going to move in a new direction at the end of the season. He’s going to have an idea for something else that could be done and he’s going to move into a different direction.”

Although this direction will put Ravi’s work on the zombie cure on hold, Thomas said that there’s a good reason why Liv’s (Rose McIver) boss is moving into this new project. “The truth is, I think he’s always going to be trying to cure Liv and other zombies,” Thomas said of Ravi. “But as most people probably realize, on a show called ‘iZombie,’ by the time Liv gets a cure, hopefully we’re doing the emotional farewell episode. So I hope that we don’t find that cure anytime soon.”
