“iZombie’s” Mr. Stacey Boss may be one of the jauntiest villains on TV, but that’s one of the things Eddie Jemison loves about his character.

“What I love about old Mr. Boss is all these awful awful things are done in his name, but he’s pretty breezy,” Jemison said in a lengthy interview with A.V. Club. “He’s got a small storefront tax office and he still does people’s personal taxes, like that still matters to him. So while he’s getting people dismembered, he’s also doing his next-door-neighbor-in-the-shopping-mall’s taxes. So that’s a great character, and it’s a great mix of comedy and drama.”

For some reasons, Jemison also loves the fact that his villainous character has a cool first name. “I love that his name is Stacey Boss. They gave me a great first name, Stacey,” he said.

Jemison made his debut appearance as Mr. Boss in Season 2, episode 6, titled “Max Wager.” Although Mr. Boss was introduced as an unassuming barber’s customer in the episode, it was later revealed that he is actually Seattle’s leading crime lord. Among the illegal activities that he oversees in the city include bookmaking, prostitution, smuggling, trafficking and murder-for-hire.

Jemison is set to return for the 13-episode Season 3 of “iZombie.” However, despite Mr. Boss’ big involvement in last season’s story, series creator Rob Thomas revealed during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel in July that the series won’t get to Mr. Boss until later in the upcoming installment.

Jemison got the role of Mr. Boss after he made a cameo appearance in the 2014 “Veronica Mars” movie which Thomas directed. “I did a movie with Rob Thomas, the ‘Veronica Mars’ movie years ago,” he recalled to A.V. Club. “And I just had a cameo, and he remembered me, God bless him. He said, ‘I wrote this part for you, would you do it?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah!’”
