  • Jason Momoa said Dave Bautista is an amazing human being and a phenomenal actor
  • Momoa shared that Bautista texted him before the latter tweeted about their upcoming movie
  • The "Aquaman" actor also lauded the former wrestler for doing fight scenes with ease

Jason Momoa got candid about his recent working experience with Dave Bautista in a new interview.

Momoa, 42, and Bautista, 52, previously worked together in "Dune." And now the two of them have reunited for the second season of Apple TV+'s "See." In his recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the "Aquaman" star spoke about his experience filming the new season of the sci-fi drama with Bautista.

"I adore the guy," he said of Bautista. "He's just such an amazing human being and a phenomenal actor. I love being around his energy, and I feel like he feels the same about me."

Although both are very fond of each other, the interactions between their characters are very different from their real-life relationship. Bautista plays Edo Voss, brother of Momoa's Baba Voss in the series. Edo and Baba will reunite when Baba returns to rescue his daughter, whom Edo has kidnapped. The siblings are said to have a fraught relationship after Baba killed their father and fled Trivantes for over two decades. Edo resents his brother after everything that happened in their family, so their reunion will be far from being a peaceful one.

Momoa and Bautista are also set to star in a "Lethal Weapon"-inspired movie. The former professional wrestler tweeted about the project earlier this month.

"Just going to throw this out into the atmosphere and see what happens. Here we go… Me and Momoa in a 'Lethal Weapon' type buddy cop movie directed by David Leitch. Ok! There it is. Now we wait," he wrote on Twitter.

The "Justice League" star confirmed the project and said that Bautista texted him before he made the tweet. Momoa praised his co-star for being respectful to him.

"He did text me first, which is how respectful he is," Momoa said. "I was like, 'Hell yes. Tell me where to sign, I'm in.' And then it turns out he just tweeted it right after getting my approval. And then it went viral. You're like, 'All right, well, it's that easy. Let's do it, buddy.'"

Momoa also gushed about Bautista's skills in doing fight scenes. According to him, it's "terrifying" to do a fight scene without looking at the other person, but Bautista is a pro.

"I'm hoping when I'm Bautista's age, I can still do what he does," he continued. "He's one of those big guys that can move and fight really well. I have a lot of respect for him and Dwayne [Johnson], because doing that kind of wrestling is a lot of tear on your body for a long time. I know I feel it, and I'm 42. And those guys are still bada--es."
