Jay Cutler wants another ending for him and his ex Kristin Cavallari, a report says.

Cutler and Cavallari have been separated for almost two years, but their divorce still isn't finalized. An unnamed source suggested to Us Weekly that the reason may be that the former NFL player is still in love with the "Hills" alum.

"Jay is still very much hung up on Kristin," the insider said. "He still has a lot of love for her and wishes things weren't as they are."

Cavallari and Culter, who tied the knot in June 2013 after three years of dating, share three children — sons Camden, 9, and Jaxon, 7, and daughter Saylor, 6. Since calling it quits in 2020, the exes have been linked to other people, but the insider claimed Cutler is still hoping for a reunion with his estranged wife.

"They are co-parenting well — he just wishes they were still together," the source added. "He deeply cares about her."

While Cutler seems to have not yet moved on from his ex, it's a different story for the "Laguna Beach" alum.

During an October 2021 interview on "Off the Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe," Cavallari said she and the former quarterback tried to make their marriage work before pulling the plug on their relationship, but there was no longer any spark between them.

"Jay and I actually went on a couple [of] dates months and months and months ago, but we did. But it wasn't there anymore. It wasn't there for me anymore," Cavallari said.

The Uncommon James founder said that the dates that were supposed to reignite their feelings for each other only strengthened her decision to move on from him and walk away from their relationship, which she described as "toxic."

"I just decided I didn't want to be in a toxic relationship anymore, and I had to break it off. But that's made it hard and made me sit here and question it for a few months," she explained.

Cutler and Cavallari announced their split in April 2020 in a joint statement shared via Instagram.

"We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of," they wrote at the time. "This is just the situation of two people growing apart."

An unnamed source previously told Us Weekly that the pair's split didn't surprise their pals, who witnessed the ups and downs of their relationship. Those close to Cavallari thought Cutler "had a shady side to him," the insider claimed.

The source also claimed that Culter was a "shouter" and would call Cavallari out in front of others. The former athlete was also allegedly rude to their fans, and Cavallari only stayed for their kids, according to the insider.
