The trailer for Jennifer Lopez’s new movie “The Hustlers” has been released online. The actress plays the role of a stripper in the film, and the director of the movie Lorene Scafaria revealed in a recent interview that the singer actually went to a strip club in order to prepare for the role.

“The Hustlers” is inspired by an article written by Jessica Pressler for New York Magazine. The plot follows a group of strip club employees who join hands to steal from their wealthy Wall Street clients.

The trailer of the film shows Lopez’s character teaching another stripper the tricks of pole dancing. At the heart, it is a human story about how the strippers seek to take revenge on the Wall Street clients for the 2008 financial crises.

In an interview with Vulture, Scafaria said that as soon as he finished the script it became clear to him that the character Ramona was perfect for Lopez. The singer and actress liked the role and she did some real-life research to seriously prepare for the role.

Lopez took her fiancé Alex Rodriguez to a strip club to see how the dancers perform. Scafaria pointed out that Lopez is a very good dancer, but pole dancing is very different.

“It required muscles you don’t know you have,” Scafaria said about pole dancing. The director was later impressed with the way Lopez took on the physically demanding role, and he added that the physical aspect of the film made him and his team treat it like a sports movie.

Lopez’s visit to the strip club also came in handy. The actress apparently gave the director some “insights” about the role after her visit.

Apart from promoting her new film “The Hustlers,” Lopez is also busy with her “It’s My Party” concerts. In a recent interview with ET Online, the singer said that she is also ready to consider performing at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show in Miami, Florida.
