"Beverly Hills, 90210" actor Joe E. Tata died Wednesday at the age of 85 following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

The actor played the role of Peach Pit owner Nat on the famous TV series in the early 90s that featured a young and mostly affluent crowd in Beverly Hills. Shannen Doherty and Jason Priestly were also part of the hit series.

Joe's daughter, Kelly, said she was "devastated" by the loss. She had previously started a GoFundMe page seeking support in caring for his father who was diagnosed with the disease in 2018.

Kelly thanked everyone who supported her father in a statement Thursday, E! News reported.

"I'm devastated to report that my father Joe E. Tata passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022. My father and I are forever grateful for the love and support of family, friends, and fans," she wrote.

Kelly continued, "I'm also especially grateful to Joanna Konjevod for caring for my father in his final years and allowing me to be there to hold his hand in his final moments. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as I grieve the loss of my best friend."

She said the money raised through the GoFundMe page will now be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

Ian Ziering, who played Steve Sanders in the youth-oriented show, paid a tribute to the actor on his Instagram page.

"In the last few months we've lost Jessica Klein one of 90210's most prolific writers and producers, Denise Douse who played Mrs. Teasley, and now I'm very sad to say Joe E Tata has passed away," Ziering wrote alongside photos of Joe on the set of the drama.

"One of the happiest people I've ever worked with, he was as generous with his wisdom as he was with his kindness. Though the peach pit was a 90210 set, It often felt like the backdrop to the Joe E Tata show," the actor added.

Ziering's co-stars Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling also paid tribute to Joe on the Instagram page of their "9021omgpodcast."

"R.I.P. Joe E. Tata. We are heartbroken by this news...thinking of his friends and family....Nat is forever in our hearts," the pair wrote in the caption.

The sad news comes just a couple of weeks after the demise of another "Beverly Hills, 90210" star, Denise Dowse, who died on Aug. 13 due to severe meningitis.
