As country singer Joey Feek battles for her life with stage 4 cervical cancer, she found out some great news: Her cover song, who she composed with her husband, Rory, was nominated for a Grammy for best country duo/group performance. Rory took to Facebook to share both her shock and joy Monday.

The couple, known professionally as “Joey+Rory,” wrote the tune for their daughter, Indiana. “Woke my bride up this morning with a baby in my arms and the news that our version of "If I Needed You" was nominated for a Grammy,” he said. “As her excitement and tears flowed into mine. She said, ‘How can that be?’”

Rory, 50, continued: “The song received no radio airplay ... no press ... no critical acclaim ... and the only music video we made for it was to celebrate the day our little Indiana was born.”

It’s the first Grammy nomination the duo has received. Rory said “God is good” and thanked his fans. He also shared the video they created for Indiana, 21 months.

Doctors told the Feeks that Joey doesn’t have much time left. One of things she wants to see is her daughter turn 2 years old.

Rory has been chronicling Joey’s battle on his blog and Facebook page. Last month he shared a heartbreaking moment about the singer wishing she could be the one to raise their daughter. "'I want to raise our baby,' she cried, and her tears fell harder. 'I want to be the one to teach her,'" he wrote.

Joey, 40, was diagnosed last year. She stopped chemotherapy in October after doctors said it wasn’t working. The singer is now under hospice care, People magazine reported in November.
